Frequently Asked Questions

Can I take a "BYU Online" class as one of my options?
Yes. “BYU Online" is online university course delivery that existed before and will continue to exist after COVID-19. “BYU Online” classes are designated by a header in the Class Schedule, and they may still be taught in blended, live, or on-demand formats.

Will I have support if I need help in my class?
Yes! You will not be learning on your own. No matter what types of classes you choose, BYU is committed to providing students with support. Professors and TAs are doing their best to make sure that you will have the help you need, whether you are in person or online.

Are there classes that allow me to go at my own pace?
Not really, even online classes still have due dates and deadlines throughout the semester! All class types will follow a university semester schedule including a finals schedule. (See academiccalendar.byu.edu.)

What if I am concerned about my health?
If you are not comfortable coming to campus, we anticipate there will be sufficient Live Remote and On-Demand Remote courses available. You can contact your advisement center for more guidance.
